Memorial Lectures for Professor Jennifer Mao

Professor Jennifer Mao, who passed away April 24, 2004, was one of the most prominent scholars in Finance and Economics in Singapore. She visited ISER at Osaka University with Professors Soo Hong Chew and Naoko Nishimura during the summer of 2000, and the collaboration among the three resulted in a paper that will be presented by Naoko in the Memorial Lectures. Professor Shige Serizawa visited Singapore during the spring of 2001 and Jennifer and Shige had a numerous exchange of ideas and the paper presented by Shige is dedicated to her memory. Jennifer was well known as an advocate of an auction of car entitlement in Singapore to the colleagues at ISER. The spirit of the paper presented by Professor Yoshi Saijo is inspired by the conversation with Jennifer.
